A Kenyan data and technology company, ONA, has been listed among the top 50 companies in the world by the time magazine. ONA's recognition comes in the news magazine’s first annual list recognizing innovative businesses that are changing the way the world works, lives and plays. ONA, which is based in kilimani, Nairobi, is only one of three African companies included in the list published in the current issue of the magazine, which hit the newsstands this week. Time magazine is one of the world’s oldest news publications and has a widely read digital platform in addition to a print magazine. Using mapping and data technologies from its namesake mobile survey platform, ONA has developed mobile apps such opensrp, which helps community health workers deliver services more effectively to rural families. it also created mspray and reveal, which support precision health service delivery, in partnership with Zambia based akros, and canopy, an enterprise data management and visualization platform created specifically for international development organizations.
